100 classic cars from private collection at auction

A collection over 100 classic cars owned by French industrialist Richard Romagny of Liore Industrie. Richard has amassed over the years a collection of multiple makes and models of over 100 cars, of which more than 70 are French, classics from the 50s, 60s and 70s.

The auction runs from the 4th to the 22nd of November, this collection aptly titled “The French Collection”, has been described by Parisian auction house Artcurial as "a tribute to French brands and the best of French engineering".

1961 Citroën DS 19

 

The French industrialist is a car enthusiast and has competed in the Dakar Rally at least three times. The collection features several iconic French cars, which include 37 Citroëns, 24 Peugeots and 13 Renaults. But other country classics too, like most notably the 1998 Toyota Land Cruiser Romagny raced on the Dakar in 1999, a coveted silver 1959 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL, there are also some Cadillacs and Chevvys.

1968 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL 

This car was delivered brand new on April 11, 1968, equipped with a four-speed automatic gearbox and painted in a subtle "Papyrus White" color, with matching black and hard-top upholstery, Richard acquired this magnificent classic car in 2010.

 

1922 Voisin C3 C "Queen Alexandra"

This is a very rare example of a short Voisin C3 chassis, it was the first Voisin with front brakes. The car has been kept in very good condition since 1975 and has covered only 8,795 km.

 

1951 Cadillac Fleetwood 60S Sedan 

Cadillacs are known for offering what America does best when it comes to automobiles. This 1951 Fleetwood Cadillac was purchased by Mr. Romagny in 2015.

 

1955 Citroën Traction 15 Six H

This car was the definitive evolution of Citroën's flagship model with a particularly elegant appearance and exceptional comfort for the time. It was purchased by Richard Romagny in 2020.

 

1959 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL

This desired Mercedes-Benz cabriolet appeared in 1954 and was produced until 1963, like its brother 300 SL. This copy joined Mr. Romagny's collection in 2007, he purchased the previously restored car. Shown in silver gray with a lovely brown leather interior, it comes with a black Alpaca hood and a leather tonneau cover that matches the upholstery.

 

1960 MG A 1600 Roadster MKI 

This iconic classic car is presented in an attractive black color with a red leather interior, complemented by beautiful chrome wire wheels. It was acquired by its current owner in 2012. 

 

1978 Chevrolet Corvette C3 Pace Car

This Chevrolet Corvette is a limited edition Pace Car, which makes it particularly interesting, this edition was released on May 28, 1978, to celebrate the 62nd Indianapolis 400 miles. Romagny bought this fantastic copy in 2017.

 

1956 Peugeot 203

Immaculately restored, it represents the most sought-after version of the Peugeot 203 has a very rare French supercharger from Constantin. The cabriolet is also finished in a deep yellow tone that highlights the body and curved characteristics.
