The Concours of Elegance 2020 is scheduled for the weekend of 4-6 September at the luxurious Hampton Court Palace. After the cancellation of all events and celebrations due to the global pandemic situation, news emerges that the Concours of Elegance 2020 will be held. The contest featuring luxury cars and classic cars unique in the world.
This contest started in 2012 at Windsor Castle, in the years that followed it always had different locations like St James's Palace in 2013, Hampton Court Palace in 2014, at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh (official residence of the Queen in Scotland) in 2015, returns in 2016 to Windsor Castle, and in 2017 returns to Hampton Court Palace, where it takes place every year until next year.
The Concours of Elegance will once again bring together a selection of 60 rarest cars ever. Many of the classic cars participate in car rides in the days before the contest. The election of the contest winner is made by voting by each of the owners / participants in the contest on the other models present, and thus the winner of the “the most beautiful of the show” is decided.
Mclaren F1 GTR
For this year, the central theme of the exhibition will be the celebration of the 24 hours of Le Mans by the Mclaren F1 GTR. Mclaren in 1995 was the protagonist of one of the most incredible achievements in motorsport of all time, when I managed to reach the goal in in 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 13th places, in one of the most dominant performances of all time. It is spectacular because the F1 was mainly a road car that was adapted for the race, unlike the other cars that were built from the beginning for endurance racing. The five cars will be parked side by side in a prominent place.
Ford GT40
Still within the theme of Le Mans and referring to the following year (1996), participants and guests of the contest will have the pleasure of watching the epic battle between Ford and Ferrari, recently presented in cinema. All participants will have the opportunity to admire all the cars together, from the winners GT40 to the defeated Ferrari 250 LM, 330 P3 and 275 GTB. This reconstruction of the race will be disputed with genuine vehicles of the time, allowing visitors to feel transported to the emotions experienced at the time.
