Called Watt Electric Vehicle Company (WEVC) based in the United Kingdom, it will inaugurate a platform for electric vehicles built with known-looking bodies. To showcase its Passenger and Commercial EV Skateboard (PACES) platform, the company shows for the first time the first car inspired by the classic Porsche 356A de 1955.

The prototype completed 10 months of testing, this sport called simply Coupe, is the double of the Porsche 356. Powered by a single electric motor of 160 hp, with a battery of 40 kilowatt-hours it offers a range of more than 320 kilometers. The way the battery and the electric motor are mounted provides an ideal distribution of the vehicle's weight.

The body is specifically molded after the Porsche 356A of 1955, but all surfaces have been expertly modified to improve aerodynamic efficiency and make room for the PACES platform and modern suspension. The PACES platform itself is made of agglomerated aluminum and was designed to suit a wide variety of vehicles, the company said.

The WEVC Coupe will be unveiled this summer, following the completion of further development work. So far, WEVC has confirmed plans for only 21 models of the launch edition, with a base price of 81,250 British pounds (approximately € 94,000).

Production is slated to begin at WEVC base in Cornwall in November, with deliveries scheduled for 2022.
