Pagani Automobili presented with all the pomp and circumstance the third supercar model of the Italian manufacturer (after the Zonda and the Huayra). The Pagani Utopia, this is the name of this luxury car of which only 99 units will be produced.
And like a work of art, its presentation was made in the Sala del Cenacolo of the National Museum of Science and Technology, in the center of Milan, surrounded by original drawings by Leonardo da Vinci. The choice of setting is due to the fact that Horacio Pagani, like Vinci, is also guided by the desire to combine art and science in his creations.
The new Utopia is a supercar designed to be beautiful, exclusive and extraordinarily effective. Like its two predecessors Zonda and Huayra, the Utopia is a two-seater super sports car with an engine developed specifically for Pagani and supplied by Mercedes-AMG. This engine developed over two years is a V12, with 6.0 liters of displacement and biturbo, placed in the central rear position, with 864 hp of power at 6000 rpm.
Weighing just 262kg, this block represents 20.4% of the Utopia's weight, which shows a total of 1280kg on the scale indicator. The Pagani's lightness is essentially due to the choice of materials; such as carbon fiber, titanium wires, Carbo-Triax HP62, a carbon-based composite, and alloy steel among others. It has a gearbox bearing the seal of Xtrac specialists, and the transmission can be handled by a seven-speed automatic gearbox or, for those who enjoy “traditional” driving, it has a manual gearbox with an electromechanical differential.
The interior of Pagani Utopia was inspired by the 50s and 60s of the last century. In other words, it has simple lines with analogue dials and has only the essential luxury, since Leonardo de Vinci already said that “simplicity is the maximum sophistication”. At the center of the dashboard are four circular dials displaying useful information, such as turbo pressure, oil pressure, oil and water temperature.
Its base value will be 2.5 million, an amount that can be higher if its future owners require extras or customizations. Even with these values, the 99 units that will be produced are all already sold.
