New eco-friendly superyacht is a floating garden

Published: 2021-11-03

This superyacht concept was unveiled at the Monaco Yacht Show and is the responsibility of 3deluxe. The project, named VY.01, can be considered a luxurious floating garden at sea.

It's the closest thing to a “paradisiacal ecosystem” with a spectacular greenhouse and vegetable garden that allows occupants to grow their own products on board. Fresh fish can also be easily caught in the ocean, starting from VY.01 allowing for almost complete self-sufficiency.

The studio describes that the yacht will be powered by fuel cells powered by hydrogen and recharged by bio methanol and equipped with silent electric motors to be a totally ecological cruise with no CO2 emissions, noise or vibrations. Its aerodynamic profile, in turn, guarantees a minimum resistance to wind and waves for greater efficiency in navigation.

This “green” superyacht uses solar panels on the roof to generate clean energy for things like the seawater desalination system, which provides additional water needed, for example, for plants.

Luxury amenities of this concept include an infinity pool at the beach club, the lush, open-plan living area encourages guests to move from the inside out.
Although VY.01 is just a concept at the moment, it seems to have the potential to be a revolutionary ship.

Studio 3deluxe stated: “Climate change is forcing industries to rethink the way they operate. In the technically ambitious world of yacht building, there are some interesting developments that could pave the wave for achieving the goal of significant reduction in emissions from global seafaring”.
