Several marine designs are inspired by cars. To prove it, the Italian shipyard of Grupo Overmarine group recently presented the super yacht Mangusta 165 Rev inspired by the sports cars of the 1930s.
The new 50 meter yacht is the flagship of the new Mangusta Maxi Open REV series. It is advertised as “a celebration of design and functionality, comfort and excellent performance”, similar to the iconic vehicles of yesteryear.
The Mangusta 165 Rev features an aggressive profile with rounded and curved shapes, was developed by designer Igor Lobanov, and the engineering department at Overmarine. The interior decoration was in charge of the architecture firm M2 Atelier, based in Milan. It presents a subtle palette of “warm colors” with contemporary furniture. The floor-to-ceiling windows in the lounge ensure a connection between the interior and the exterior and create a “cozy and sophisticated atmosphere” and abundant natural light is the key element of the design.
One of the new additions to this yacht is the beach club which opens the rear door like the roof of a convertible sports car, and reveals a magnificent 36 m² fully equipped living area. The side garage can accommodate a tender and two jet-skis.
On the deck there is a large living space furnished with comfortable sofas and a bar located in the heart of the ship, while the huge 60 m² front area offers the owner and his guests a sunbathing area and an infinity pool, where they can relax. delight with pure relaxation. Accommodation is for a total of 12 guests in six cabins.
This luxury yacht works like a supercar. As it will be powered by 4 MTU 16V 2000 M96L diesel engines and four Kamewa waterjets that propel the yacht at a top speed of 34 knots. Veem's gyroscopic stabilizers ensure a smooth and comfortable cruising event in any weather and in all sea conditions, and carry a range of up to 650 miles.
