Jaguar E-Type has been reinvented

Enzo Ferrari is said to have said that the original Jaguar E-Type was the most beautiful car of all time. Based on this idea, Helm Motorcars, a UK company that builds classic cars,  will launch a modern replica of the Jaguar E-Type Series 1, 60 years after the original was launched.

The company showed the first of a limited series of 20 E Type units to be rebuilt, each designed with modern technology with particular attention to every detail. The Helm E-Type starts with an original chassis, which is reinforced with steel, but keeps at least 30% of the original material.

Modern components are used including custom-made brakes, a 3.8-liter 300 hp engine, 5-speed manual transmission. Adjustable suspension and speed-sensitive electric power steering. The hood and doors are handmade in aluminum with a soft-close system, as well as the interior in leather and calf suede. Even the switches on the panel are sewn by hand. 3,800 hours of work are required in each car, according to Helm.

LED interior lighting, Bluetooth and a modern air conditioning system transport the cockpit into the 21st century. Each car comes with two handmade 'Rocket' weekend bags and two briefcases, the keys also come with leather-bound key rings.

Helm's founder is E-Type specialist Chedeen Battick, who spent more than 10 years looking for original E-Types for the project. Chedeen founded the company last year with the aim of supplying Jaguar E-Types made to measure and respecting the requirements of its future owners, which means that there will hardly be two identical cars.

The price will be around $ 576,000 (€ 478.000), but nevertheless, it will always depend on the specifications required by each buyer.
