The British luxury car brand Jaguar celebrates the 60th anniversary of the iconic E-Type's in March 2021. To celebrate the date the brand will honor the two of the most famous Jaguar E-Type models in motorsport history, the “9600 HP” and the “77 RW” (referring to their respective registrations). These classics played a key role in their world premiere in Geneva, Switzerland in March 1961. Because they are two excellent models of the luxury brand, Jaguar will recreate six pairs of Jaguar E-Type which it named “60 Edition”.
E-Type Coupé “9600 HP”

Jaguar E-Type Coupé “9600 HP” was one of the first E-Type to be unveiled for special guests at the Parc des Eaux Vives. The day before its presentation in Switzerland, the magnificent E-Type Coupé was still in Coventry, in the United Kingdom. He was driven all night before to be able to arrive in time for his presentation at the Geneva Motor Show.
The E-Type Coupé had such an impact on its presentation that it was unable to satisfy all requests for road tests. For this reason, those responsible for Jaguar had the “77 RW” Roadster taken to Geneva as well. Both vehicles were used in road tests for the media, where they showed their sensational performance.
Roadster “77 RW”

The brand will join 12 existing cars from the 60s (6 of each model), to restore them meticulously to the condition of new and with references to the 60th anniversary. They will include exclusive commemorative details, created by Jaguar design director Julian Thomson, and with custom paint. In which the E-Type Coupé “9600 HP” will have “Flat Out Gray,” and the Roadster “77 RW” painted in the iconic “Drop Everything Green”. The models will retain the original 3.8-liter in-line six-cylinder engine, as well as all of the car's performance functions, which include an impressive 240km/h top speed.
“60 Edition”

Jaguar Classic director Dan Pink said in a statement that; “The Jaguar E-Type is a true icon, as it is as extraordinary today as it was in its presentation in 1961. Thanks to the advanced level of design and engineering of the E-Type, we feel the same passion when admiring it for almost 60 years after. The E-Type 60 collection is an enduring tribute to E-Type enthusiasts, as it pays tribute to the legacy and achievements of the team that created it. Many of its members have descendants who now work at Jaguar Classic to restore, maintain and prepare these vehicles so that the following generations can enjoy them”.
