Nautical design studio Asquared Naval Design has unveiled its latest yacht concept, called Fluyt and is inspired by the “golden times of Dutch shipbuilding”. The original fluyt ("fluijt" means "flute") was first documented in the 16th century, and was designed for cargo transport.

The Fluyt concept is a modern interpretation of the iconic journey, with an elegant and radically futuristic image. In Fluyt they stand out as long and flowing, and a pointed bow and a spun bow that together create a unique drop-shaped silhouette.

Sporting a steel hull and aluminum superstructure, the tri-decker is reminiscent of the golden age of Dutch shipbuilding, according to the designers. “Its distinctive exterior is an unexpected symbiosis of a modern, minimalist hull of antique vessels.”

The upper deck features a gigantic glass-bottom infinity pool at the stern, which is cleverly combined with the main deck so that the water connects the two spaces. The main deck will be equipped with various themes to relax in, as well as a touch-and-go helipad to make it easier for your guests to move around.
