With regard to the extravagant creations of the maritime industry, the Italian design studio Lazzarini Design always has an important say, being responsible for many of the most emblematic maritime designs. Its latest concept is an 88-foot hyperyacht that pays homage to Ferrari's fast touring cars.

The Gran Turismo Mediterranea, (GTM) which according to Lazzarini “highlights the yacht's ability to cruise at high speeds with extreme navigation comfort”. For this reason it was called hyperyacht, as with maximum comfort and luxury for guests it can easily reach an incredible speed of 70 knots. “We tried to imagine what a Ferrari of the seas would be like,” said the Italian design studio.

The superstructure is made of lightweight carbon fiber, also used by the Italian brand, while the hull is finished with what looks like a riff in Ferrari's Rosso Corsa red. It even has a cheeky Ferrari badge on the front, although it's not an official design. Lazzarini did not reveal which exact model the GTM was based on, although the car accompanying the yacht is quite similar to the magnificent SF90 Stradale hybrid.

Powered by triple MAN V12 engines, an Arneson transmission and a Hamilton Jet mid-engine, the GTM would use the jet to boost acceleration and corner at high speed. Blade deployment lifts the hull partially out of the water, decreasing drag and making the overall ride faster and smoother.

Like a Ferrari, the GTM is also equipped with its own version of aerodynamic wings, known as foils, which lift the hull up and out of the water when traveling at high speed. In the cabin there is a race-inspired cockpit that is finished with pilot seats and gauges. As well as a main hall, two double guest cabins and accommodation for three crew.

Perhaps the most striking space in the GTM is the rear platform, which can be installed as a deck or garage for a super car, the Ferrari, of course.
