Bugatti launches yet another supercar project, the Bugatti Bolide. This fantastic car lives up to the meaning of its name in the dictionaries "Designation of extremely bright meteorite" or "car whose engine and body were specially designed for racing and which is capable of reaching high speeds". These meanings fit perfectly with the concept of the latest hypercar from the luxury French brand Bugatti.

It is customary for Bugatti to present cars that take your breath away and make the most distracted of humans dream, for example, the Bugatti Veyron, from Chiron, la Voiture Noire, and others, appears now with this magnificent project called Bugatti Bolide. This “bomb” is the result of the imagination of the design team directed by Achim Anscheidt. With 1,850 hp, a weight of less than 1.3 tonnes, and a maximum speed that can reach an incredible 500 km / h, it can only be an “extremely bright meteorite” to ride on the most demanding tracks.

The design of this coupe includes an exclusive carbon structure with high rigidity and resistance with values that are more common in spaceships. Four-wheel drive, eight-liter W16 turbo engine with seven-speed gearbox and two racing bacquets. It has an external coating on the ceiling, with active flow optimization, which is reflected when driving slowly, the surface of the cover remains smooth, but when the accelerator is loaded, a bubble field is formed to reduce air resistance. His French Racing Blue paint is on only 40% of the surface as opposed to what is usual at Bufgatti. The brakes are composed of competition discs made of ceramic, the front wheels in magnesium weigh 7,4 kg each, and the rear ones with 8,4 kg, all to make it as light as possible. The tire change is done through a pneumatic system for automatic lifting of the Bolide.

In the words of Bugatti President Stephan Winkelmann; “With the Bolide we have dared to pursue an experiment of extremes. In our history that dates more than 110-years, there has never been a comparable model based on such a minimalist concept conceived solely around the engine. An output of up to 1,850 hp, is combined with a weight of just 1,240 kilograms, giving an unprecedented weight-to-power ratio of only 0.67 kilograms”, and “driving the Bolide is like riding on a cannonball”.

Technical development director Stefan Ellrott added; “Bolide is the definitive answer to the question of whether Bugatti would be able to build a hyper-sports fit for the track and that would respect all safety requirements of the International Automobile Federation (FIA). Designed around the W16 propulsion system, with minimal bodywork around it and unbelievable performance ", and says that this project" also acts as an innovative knowledge carrier for future technologies ".
