Amazing new Rolls-Royce

Published: 2022-01-12

Rolls-Royce has always been synonymous with the highest luxury anywhere in the world. The imposing British company started its Black Badge series in 2016, which appeals to a growing wave of less conservative and younger customers.

Building on this trend, for 2022, the luxury car brand announces the Black Badge Ghost the "most pure and technologically advanced Black Badge car yet produced".

It features a “more opulent” aesthetic aimed at a younger audience that according to CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös, “the average owner age has dropped from 50 to 43, in addition to the obvious language and design updates Goodwood engineers worked on. its magic into more aggressive and agile performance features”.

Customers of the brand and in particular of Ghost have at their disposal a pallet of 44,000 external colors, but probably, most of them will opt for the Black signature. According to Rolls Royce, this is the darkest black paint ever applied to a car and consists of a total of 45 kilos of paint "atomized and applied to an electrostatically charged body in white before being oven dried". The car then receives two coats of varnish and is hand-polished by a team of four craftsmen – this method takes between three to five hours.

As far as its sumptuous interior is concerned, the cabin is a cocoon of luxury and comfort. There is a hand-stitched constellation with 1,340 fiber optic 'stars' that join the more than 90,000 laser-etched dots that ensure uniform illumination of the entire ceiling surface (this function can be turned on/off).

At night, the starry sky effect of this ceiling is even more impressive, and to complete the moment you can celebrate with a refined French champagne present in a “champagne container” and flutes with the engraved RR monogram.

It is equipped with a 6.75-litre V12 engine, which now offers a whopping 600 horsepower and a maximum torque of 900 Nm. The gearbox is an eight-speed automatic. As for performance, this Ghost Black Badge accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250 km/h.

The imposing Rolls-Royce Ghost Black Badge 2022 tends to satisfy the segment of very demanding customers who want to be pampered, and for that they have to be willing to pay amounts starting at $398,850.
