The British car, brand, Morgan launched in 1950, what would become the most successful model in the range of classic cars of the brand, the Morgan Plus 4. After more than 70 years the brand launches on the market the completely renewed version of the iconic renamed roadster with the name of 2021 Morgan Plus Four.
At first glance, the 2021 Morgan Plus Four is very similar to the classic car 70 years ago. But in reality it is just aesthetically, since underneath the retro style, there is a car with a deep renovation in which 97% are components of the 21st century. The new Plus Four is built on the CX-Generation aluminum platform (it gets its name because it was created when Morgan completed its 110th anniversary) also used on the Plus Six. It is a platform that weighs just 97 kg, for an overall weight of just over 1 ton.
In terms of mechanics, this new “classic” is powered by the original four-cylinder engine BMW (used in the BMW 330i sedan). With 2 liters of capacity and delivering 258 hp and 400 Nm, which improves the power and torque values of its predecessor by 65%. Morgan announced that in the version equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission this new roadster will go from 0 to 100 km / h in just 4.8 seconds. In the six-speed manual version, this measurement will be from 0 to 100 km / h in 5.2 seconds.
Its interior has much more space than before, with the center console in wood, the seats are in leather, it also includes a digital information display, LED lamps and air conditioning.
