Ferran Adrià is the chef of the mythical restaurant ElBulli, a magnificent space that has been considered five times the best in the world by The World's 50 Best Restaurants.
One of the world's most influential (if not the most influential) chefs was in Lisbon where he talked about the book "The Family Meal: Home Cooking with Ferran Adrià" and expounded some of his ideas on cuisine and catering in general.
About the book he said: "This is one of the strangest things of elBulli, sold two million copies of this book and translated it into 14 languages! It's amazing that this is elBulli's most famous book ... and it has nothing to do with it directly "because the book is compiling much of the staff's meals from its famous restaurant.
Although elBulli ended in 2011, the way we think, work and cook is spread all over the world, we only see the curriculum of many great chefs today to realize that they have all been to the best restaurant in the world, as Adrià calls them " elbullians ". Even though it is no longer in the kitchen because it is entirely dedicated to the ElBulli Foundation that will open in the next few years, this status will always be maintained by the chef.
