Sunreef Yachts, a Polish yacht builder, launched its first 100% electric catamaran in Gdansk, Poland. The 23.8 meter 80 Sunreef Power Eco was commissioned by an experienced family of eco-conscious yacht owners who are fascinated by sustainability.
This magnificent luxury catamaran has been customized to its owner's exact specifications and uses the latest eco-technology to achieve the highest levels of energy efficiency and sustainability.
The owner has commented in interviews that; "The design capability of the Sunreef yacht has allowed for significant input and choice on our part." He added, “My wife and I, along with our captain, designer and broker, worked directly with Sunreef throughout the entire project. While we've never designed and built a yacht, we've brought our style and ideas from our home and hospitality projects and enjoy learning about and shaping our maritime future home!”
The 80 Sunreef Power Eco is equipped with two 360 kilowatt motors and a 990 kilowatt hour battery pack. The Eco superyacht is equipped with Sunreef Yachts' revolutionary solar energy system. Approximately 2,152 square feet of solar panels have been integrated into the composite exterior and will generate up to 36kWp of clean energy used to power it or can be stored in batteries.
Thanks to innovative technology, the 80 Sunreef Power Eco provides unrivaled solar power for extended range and a clean cruising experience. “The climate impact of large motor yachts is significant. We take extensive measures to impact climate crises, therefore, we could only consider a motor yacht if it incorporated technologies that are rapidly growing in other sectors, such as solar energy and electric vehicles”, said the owner of Sunreef.
The interior of the catamaran, with layout and decoration according to the ideas and tastes of the owners, has 4 generous cabins to accommodate eight people in total luxury. Decor combines sleek contemporary furnishings with a subtle palette of neutral tones that complement the gleaming gold hull.
With an energy-saving air conditioning system and smart energy management, this electric yacht sets new standards in luxury and sustainability to be used in future eco-cruising yachts.
